Pre-K Eligibility

According to Texas Education Code, students must be 4 years old by September 1 of the current school year for pre-kindergarten eligibility. Northwest ISD offers pre-K for students who qualify for state-funded pre-K as well as tuition-based entry. Read more about pre-K eligibility here.

Hicks Early Childhood Center Feeder Pattern

Students who live in the following school zones are eligible to attend the Hicks Early Childhood Center:

  • Berkshire Elementary School
  • Carter Elementary School
  • Curtis Elementary School
  • Haslet Elementary School
  • Nance Elementary School
  • Peterson Elementary School
  • Schluter Elementary School
  • Sendera Ranch Elementary School
  • Thompson Elementary School

If you are unaware of the elementary school zone you reside in, use the Northwest ISD school finder tool by typing in your home address to view your zoned campus.

If additional capacity is available, Northwest ISD will allow enrollment from families outside these school zones. Families in another Northwest ISD school zone can indicate their interest by emailing prekinfo@nisdtx.org after completing the tuition-based pre-K waitlist.
